These cops first attempt to control the man by grabbing the wrists, just as they have been trained to do. The suspect passively resists, denying control. The cop then moves to the schoolyard headlock which is similarly effective. OC spray is then used which also apparently does not work. A second man begins to intervene. Video ends with no resolution.
A man with two knives attempts to stab a police officer. Due to sheer luck, he did not attempt to stab the officer anywhere except the stab-proof vest he was wearing.
A taser was deployed very little practical effect.
Combined videos above and police dashcam:
The gunman fired 9 rounds from his 40 calibre firearm. Two officers fired approximately 26 rounds from their firearms, and the suspect was struck 18 times.
The aftermath of the gunfight is captured by a motorist driving past. The incredible footage shows police taking cover, assisting victims, and one cop helping another who had been shot. 4 civilians, the gunman and 1 officer were injured in the shootout. The gunman did not survive.
This incident goes according to plan. Police perform according to training and suspect complies.
Mugging victim feigns compliance by raising his left palm to the mugger, parries the gun away with the same hand while concealing the draw of his own gun with his right hand and shoots the mugger, all within a couple of seconds.
Gunman pins the cop behind a pillar with fire to the left side while circling right to flank and shoot the cop in the back.
When more police arrive he recognises the need to disengage and look for a better position. Unfortunately his tactics and skills were excellent.
The Tongo Tongo Ambush
The Tongo Tongo ambush occurred on 4 October 2017, when armed militants from the Islamic State in the Greater Sahara (ISGS) attacked Nigerien and American soldiers in Tongo Tongo, Niger, while they were returning to base from a mission. During the ambush, five Nigeriens, four Americans, and 21 militants were killed while eight Nigeriens and two Americans were wounded. The Nigerien and American soldiers were participating in a mission to gather information on the whereabouts of Adnan Abu Walid al-Sahrawi, the leader of the ISGS.
Tactical Breakdown of the incident
Victim perfectly distracts mugger by dropping wallet, hiding his draw by stepping around another person and drawing from the hidden side without making any sudden or aggressive movements to indicate that he may put up a fight.
